Amazon wants to have eight solar farm projects in Georgia. Its latest solar project is now operating in Warren County.
According to a report by WRDW-TV News 12, Amazon is supporting a growing number of solar projects in Georgia that will provide clean energy to power homes and businesses and will also help power Amazon’s energy needs.
The eight projects that Amazon is planning to put online in the state will have the capacity to generate more than 1,300 gigawatts of hours of clean energy, that is enough to power more than 123 homes each year.
Also, the online retail company is announcing three new solar projects in Georgia, that will be located in Wheeler, Burke and Oglethorpe counties. Two other solar farms are now operating, these ones are the Bulldog in Warren County and Sonny Solar in Elbert County.
The company also has a lot of solar projects around the world, claiming it has around 400 solar projects worldwide. Amazon has 30 solar projects just in the Southeast region alone, which generate enough energy to power more than 713,000 U.S. homes each year.
The Bulldog Solar project was built with the help of people near the community, and it’s helping them to launch careers as solar technicians, creating new green jobs specialists.
