Tesla Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Zachary Kirkhorn has stepped down after 4 years in the role and 13 years in the electric vehicle maker line of business, according to the Associated Press.
Kirkhorn made the announcement of his departure last Friday, but will remain with the company until the year’s end to support a seamless transition.
A Tesla’s regulatory filing published last Monday said the chief accounting officer was named CFO last Monday. He has been chief accounting officer since March of 2019.
Kirkhorn has been CFO for the last four years and has been working for the company over the last 13 years. The filing said Tesla experienced tremendous growth with Kirkhorn as CFO.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk thanked Kirkhorn for his work at the company.
“I would like to thank Zach Kirkhorn for his many contributions to Tesla over the course of 13 often difficult years,” Musk said on his social media platform X.
In turn, Kirkhorn seemed grateful for his time at the company.
“Being a part of this company is a special experience and I’m extremely proud of the work we’ve done together since I joined over 13 years ago,” he wrote in a LinkedIn post on Monday.
Shares of Tesla Inc. fell about 1% on Monday amid a broader sell-off in the EV market.
