Monday around 10:45 pm, officer Brandon Tsai, 32 years old, was killed after his car hit a light pole. According to Grand Prairie Police, Tsai noticed a car with fake tags near the intersection of Southwest 3rd Street and Pioneer Parkway and he decided to follow the suspect. In the statement, police spokesman Mark Beseda explained that the car Tsai was trying to stop ran away and during the pursuit, the officer lost control of his car and crashed into a light pole. He was then taken by the firefights to the Methodist Dallas Medical Center, where he died.
“He was a loving friend, a trusted colleague and an outstanding officer whose passion was providing service to the public,” Beseda said in the statement. Tsai had been working in the Grand Prairie Police since January, he was previously working for the Los Angeles Police.
